Herman Dickfos was born 29 May 1858 in Strehlow in Germany and was 7 when the family left Germany to come to Queensland. He married Anna Fischer on 8 April 1879, and they settled on a farm on the Harrisville - Rosevale Road. Once again farming, as did the rest of his family.
Anna was born 15 April 1858 at Ziemkendorf in the Brandenburg area of Germany. Her parents were Paul Fischer and Wiebke Schluter. Their story will follow.
Ziemkendorf is in Brandenburg, Germany, situated between Grenz and Damme, and is also nearby to Eickstedt.
He and Anna had 10 children, and are Ethel Schossow' great grandparents.
Annie died 11 November 1946 and is buried at the Kalbar Cemetery. Herman died 12 June 1928 at Aratula. He is buried at the Kalbar Cemetery.Many of the children married cousins and some have had their family stories told on other pages.
